What we refused to claim
The specific anecdote that archaeologists tasted a particular jar (e.g.
Tutankhamun's honey) and ate 3,000-year-old honey is folklore-adjacent: the
chemistry and the *presence of preserved honey in tombs* are well-sourced, but a
verified tasting event is not. Three-valued discipline: the script says honey was
found "still perfectly preserved," NOT that anyone ate it. Uncertain does not ship.
No numeric shelf-life ("lasts exactly N years") is asserted — "a thousand years"
is used as the sourced order-of-magnitude ("thousands of years old"), not a
measured spoilage date.
